to enhance our already beautiful selves
Some of my favorites:
what are some of your favorites right now??
1. Sea Salt Spray : so perfect for my partly wavy hair to keep it from frizzing and holding some kind of shape
2. MAC eyeshadow- Naked Lunch : my favorite base or a simple look for a casual day!
3. Laura Mercier secret camouflage concealer : AH mazing for under eye circles, miracle worker
4. Sephora bronzer - simple, cheap and not "too much" on the orange scale
5. Toner - doing wonders for my skin.
6. Loreal Voluminous: the Mascara I swear by, have been using it since I started wearing make up and have never found a better one.

why is it so hard to trust?
I was with a fellowship group the other night. We were sharing scripture that had been influential in our week or summer or life and it's significance to us. As I listened to hearts being vulnerable I heard a common phrase. It is a phrase that I have said many times and heard throughout my Christian walk by many peers. I heard it in a new way and it irked something inside of me.
"I struggle trusting the Lord..."
I started thinking about Jesus sitting in the circle in my backyard with us and how he felt as he listened to his best friends, his sons and daughters share that the struggled with trusting in Him. How hurt would you be if you heard all of the people you love tell you that? You'd wonder what you had done wrong to not gain their trust, you'd wonder what it is about you and your personality and how you treat them that would make them feel that way.
The thing about Jesus is that He has never done anything to make us not trust Him. He has been nothing but majestic. His love is the ONLY love. Unconditional without fault and the only love that can truly be unconditional. He is there for us when we need Him and catches us when we fall. WHY would we not trust Him?

off the registry
a friend asked me the other day for some ideas for bridal shower gifts that are not from the registry.
1. Holiday Theme- my mom actually gave me this idea, along with a family friend who gave us this as a wedding gift: get your bride a package with holiday decor in it! Getting married young, i didn't have many items of my own to decorate for the holidays or ornaments for our Christmas tree. It was great to have a few things to start me off so I wasn't tempted to do a little shopping spree at target when each holiday came around. You could pick a holiday or do a mix of a few different ones, create a package for Christmas wrap- scissors, tape, bags, tags, wrapping paper.
2. Return Address Stamp for their new home together!
3. Stationery Items: Everybody needs in their home extra cards for birthdays, envelopes, stamps, and an address book. Put together a fun kit of these items for them to start out with!
4. Receipes
5. Magazine Subscription- Martha Stewart, Real Simple, House Beautiful, Portland Monthly (or your respective city)
6. Date Night Ideas- click on the picture twice to follow to the ideas!
7. Picnic Basket- pack it with a blanket, bottle of wine, plastic wine glasses, plastic plates & silverware and any food items you can think of that are non-perishable
8. Marriage Books- some of my favorites are found here, here, here & here
9. Meal on the Honeymoon- Call ahead to the place where the couple is honeymooning and pre pay for a bottle of wine, room service or a meal at one of the restaurant at the resort or in town somewhere
10. Registry Item +
WIne glasses + a bottle of wine
coffee mugs + coffee
Cupcake tins + paper for the cupcakes

Off to
Santa Barbara for a wonderful wedding weekend!
This will be my second time there and absolutely loved it the first! We won't have a ton of leisure time but just in case, does anyone have any must do/eat/see suggestions?
Have a great weekend all!

community
Brian and I are super blessed to be apart of an INCREDIBLE community where we live. We have so many people in our life of all ages that love on us, are there for us, encourage us and inspire us. We NEVER feel lonely and are so grateful for that. I can not wait to see how it molds and shapes as we grow and our family grows and other families grow. We are in such a fun sweet spot before all of our peers have kids we can focus on growth, each other and those around us doing the same thing.
One thing we have gotten out of the habit of doing is having meals with our community. We are all always racing to and from all of our commitments and need to take more time for this.
I am loving these dreamy tables today:

portland street of dreams
One of Brian and my favorite things to do in the summer is go to the Portland Street of Dreams. It's a street of about 5 homes that are BEAUTIFUL. This year's street was made up of houses that were a lot more realistic in size and amenities. I love seeing the different decor and themes and fun ideas for not only the structure of the house but the interior design, colors etc.
take a peak of some of last years favorites here.
and this year:
