guest post: Michelle

Hey y'all! I'm Michelle, the girl behind Delighted!

I couldn't be more honored to guest post for Olivia this week! For Me is a treat to read, and now contribute to! And I so appreciate Olivia's heart for the Lord and great sense of style :)

Being from South Carolina and being relocated to South Florida, I have a thing for entertaining. Having people over for good food and great fellowship is just my thing, and summer couldn't be the more perfect season! (I'm also a big fan of summer table-settings, there I said it.) After throwing a couple summer shing-digs already this season, I'm learning there are a few musts for summertime entertaining.

First: Go Outside!
We've been waiting all year for warm weather and sundresses. Let's not stay cooped up inside, go outside! Play corn-hole or bocce while the burgers are on the grill.
1.2.3.
Second: lighting!
I'm a big fan of natural light, use it to your advantage with these long summer days!
1.2.
Third: Summertime Eats!
Enjoy the flavors of the season and make all the things you can't the rest of the year.

1.2.3
(ps: I've already made that blueberry peach fro-yo once this summer, it's bliss!)
Fourth: Keep it simple!!
Enjoy the season to be casual, don't go over the top, just be yourself :)

Enjoy!

& Remember to keep Olivia everyone at camp in your prayers this week!

guest post: life spelled jen

hello all. happy wednesday. i'm jen, from life spelled jen, guest posting for the lovely olivia today. my blog is full of what inspires me and the things i love which are mostly fashion, food and fun. today i am sharing a bit of that with all of you as olivia enjoys her amazing vacation.

wish i was here:

lately i have been dreaming of going back to venice. i know for most paris is the city of love and romance, but i spent a few days in venice a few years ago and have been dreaming of returning ever since. the cobblestone roads, winding paths, beautiful architecture, stunning shops and the fact that you are surrounded by water are just a few of the things that made me fall completely in love with this city.

[ruched knot skirt] [line up clutch] [leopard skinny belt] [bound platform wedge

and since i have a serious shopping addiction [and am trying to save money and not shop] i decided to share an outfit i would wear if i was in venice today. this outfit is both fun and cool. venice is normally a bit warm and this tank and beautiful skirt will keep you from melting in that summer sun. paired with the leopard belt to add some pizazz and these awesome wedges, i would be ready to go explore the city.

i hope you enjoyed my little post, feel free to pop on over and say hello.

come back and link up your "wish I was here wednesday" posts!

why I lead Young Life

John 17:24

"Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."

off to CAMP

I am off tonight to travel for... 18 hours to a beautiful magical land called Malibu Club in BC Canada. 40 high school kids from Sunset and 5 leaders are heading up on bus, ferry and boat to spend a week at Young Life camp. If any of your are familiar with Young Life you know its no ordinary camp- it is a FULL packed week of luxury and fun. Controlled chaos is how I describe it. If you pray, pray for us as we get to watch lives transform by high school kids hearing about the LOVE of Jesus Christ some for the first time and some in a new way. A love that is not about rules but about a relationship with our Creator and Father. Pray for walls to be broken down, hearts to be open and spirits to come alive. Pray our leaders have the full energy and love of the Spirit flowing through us to be able to set these kids at the feet of Christ and watch HIM move.

I will have a few guest posts this week and look forward to sharing about our time when I'm back!

feeling a little down in the dumps..

about the state I love: Oregon. It's been a sad summer with very little sun and nice warm days. I miss being able to sit outside for meals, getting tan, taking advantage of the beautiful outdoor activities, walking around downtown portland in shorts a tank... So I've decided to do a little tribute to the state that I love SO much. If you have never been here.. you really should visit. Portland is INCREDIBLE rain or shine!

HIS creation

Source: None via Olivia on Pinterest

What an amazing God we have that he loves beauty. His heart knows that we as humans, and women in particular are twitter-pated by colors and shape being put together to make flowers and plants. There are millions of different kinds, He thought them all out Himself. He named created them, named them, made them look beautiful together.

As flowers are all different shapes, sizes and colors and we find them all to be so beautiful, why can we not believe that same beauty of ourselves and our peers. God created each of us just the way we are for a reason, whether its a personality trait or the color of our eyes, He gave it to us. Let's love ourselves and more importantly love each other for who we really are and who God created us to be. HE sees us all as so beautiful just as we see these flowers all as so beautiful. Don't insult the creator by wishing you were different.

smart solutions

Desks can be hard to fit in to smaller spaces but, for most homes, is necessary to include. It helps designate space and activities in your life. Paying bills, calendar planning, filing papers and everything like that will be done more efficiently if it is all kept together in the same place. Here are some great ideas for getting a desk space made in a small area

This set up is perfect with minimal attention being drawn to it. Having no legs really does make a difference.

I am loving this desk set up. It would be perfect for a small room or space and to also hide the idea of a desk by mixing it in with shelving and decor.
find it here @ C&B

This is a great idea for studio apartments to have your bed side table double as your desk!

bend shots!!

We're back! We had such a fun relaxing weekend being really loud and silly together. Family is so fun and important. Brian and I feel so blessed to get to spend lots of time with our siblings and their significant others :) I love that we are building memories for the future and a foundation for our kids of a close family who genuinely enjoys each others company.

The weather ended up being really crappy, clouds, rain and thunder so our plans changed a little bit from hiking and floating the river and getting really tan. We walked around downtown Bend, walked around the Deschutes River, watched movies, played games and had a FAB dinner at 10Barrel Brewing Company and I had yummy gluten free pizza! Wanted to share with you just a few shots from our fun time!! How was your weekend? What did you all do?

HAPPY FRIDAY

#1 : I hope you are all off to enjoy a wonderful weekend. The weather here in Portland has been crummy this week :( I am off tonight with my hubs, his sister, her husband, my sister and her boyfriend to Bend! If you all have been following my blog for a while you know that Bend is a place that I LOVE.

It's about 4 hours East of Portland in Central Oregon. The climate is more dessert, mountains, dry with lots of pine trees, lava rocks and HOPEFULLY sunshine. We are going to float the river, take long walks, go on bike rides, relax, get tan and spend some great time together.

#2. TWO of my very best friends started blogs this week. They are VERY worth reading. Both are amazing people, very witty, smart and fun. Guaranteed laugh and cry.  Go and check them out, they rock my world and I hope they'll rock yours too!
