I've been SO inspired by pintrest and as you know I am really working on the whole dressing up-for-the-day thing. Using this board to help me put together some outfits. At first, I was feeling like I needed to buy new clothes ALL of the time. I kept seeing things I needed. I then felt way convicted about wanting to spend money (or the money I already spent.. oops) . I have SO many wonderful clothes in my closet that I barely wear.
SO I challenged myself to wear everything I own (within season). For the past few days whenever I felt inspired to do so, I went through my closet and created about 35 outfits with all the "dressy" clothes that I own. I left the causal stuff for those casual days. I am making myself wear all of the pants, skirts and shirts that I own. My closet now looks like this, so I have no other choice.

I DO NOT NEED MORE CLOTHES. I just need to make better use of the ones that I already own :)
I struggle with that myself! I love this idea...been pondering about doing a 30 for 30 challenge. Looks like you have great stuff to choose from!!

This is a great reminder to do this again! About once a year, I try and start wearing everything in my closet. Then, I fall out of it and feel stuck and go raid the nearest clothing store. But, I love being inspired by my closet. This past weekend I took out a pair of shoes I wore in 9th grade! Hah!

I feel like this is the story of my closet too! I have clothes that just hang there for months and months. I've been trying to purge this year, splurge every once in awhile, and make the most out of remixing what I have! xoxo

ReplyDeleteYou are so right! I feel like I can go through Pinterest and actually find outfits that I have...I just never give myself time to create new looks. I am definitely going to take your lead and start working on my own closet!
